Community Guidelines

Version 1.0 | Last Updated: October 1, 2026

Hello! Neighbrr started from a simple thought: why do we all own the same things, use them once in a while, and let them sit there idle the rest of the time? Sharing them with the people around us makes money, reduces waste, and brings us a bit closer together.

That only works if we can trust each other. These guidelines are the plain-language version of how we look after that trust. They are a friendly summary, not a replacement for our Terms and Conditions, which remain the rules that apply if something ever goes wrong.

1. Be a good neighbour

Treat the people you share with the way you would want to be treated. That means being kind, being honest and being easy to deal with.

  • Reply to messages and requests in good time, even if the answer is no.
  • Be respectful. Harassment, hate and discrimination have no place here, and neither do insults or defamation.
  • Keep conversations on Neighbrr's messaging. It gives both of you a clear record of what was agreed.
  • Keep Neighbrr for renting. No spam, no loans, and no items for outright sale.

2. If you are lending

You are the heart of Neighbrr, and we are grateful for it. To make it go smoothly:

  • Only list things you own or are allowed to rent out.
  • Add a clear photo and an honest description. A good description is also required if you ever need to make a guarantee claim.
  • Set a fair daily price. Longer rentals are charged per day.
  • Say how you want the item to be used and looked after, and put it in writing in the chat.
  • Make sure the item is clean, safe and working when it is handed over.

Only durable physical goods belong on Neighbrr. Services, food and perishables, plants, motorised vehicles, weapons, adult products, counterfeits and anything illegal are not allowed. Items priced above 1,000 euros a day cannot be listed. The full list is in our Terms.

3. If you are borrowing

Someone is trusting you with something of theirs, so look after it like it is your own.

  • Use the item only in the way you agreed, and return it on time and in the condition you found it.
  • Check the item's condition together at pickup and again at return.
  • If something breaks, tell the owner in the chat and tell us straight away. Honesty goes a long way, and staying quiet can lead to charges.
  • If you return late, the extra days are charged. If you do not return an item at all, you may be charged its replacement cost.
  • If you damage something through careless use, repairing or replacing it is on you.

4. Plans change

We get it. If you need to cancel an accepted rental, do it through the platform before it starts:

  • More than 24 hours before the start: the rental price is refunded in full. The service fee is not.
  • Less than 24 hours before the start: no refund, as the owner has kept the time free for you.
  • Once the rental has started: cancelling is no longer possible. If there is a problem, use the dispute process.

Arrangements made outside the platform do not change this, so please keep everything on Neighbrr.

5. Payments and trust

Payments go through our payment provider and are held in escrow until the rental is complete, so the owner knows the money is there and the renter knows it is safe. Keep every payment on Neighbrr. Paying outside the platform means none of that protection applies to you.

You may be asked to verify your identity, which keeps everyone safer. If you are an owner, it is also needed to receive payouts.

6. When something goes wrong

Most rentals are uneventful, which is just how we like it. If something does go wrong, start by talking to each other in the chat. If that does not solve it, raise a dispute from your rental page and our team will step in to help both sides reach a fair outcome.

Neighbrr may also offer a guarantee covering damage, loss and theft up to 1,000 euros per rental, subject to eligibility and our assessment. The conditions are set out in our Terms.

7. Karma: a thank you for taking part

Community Karma is a running score of the good things you do on Neighbrr. You earn it by completing rentals, listing items, leaving reviews and inviting neighbours who get started themselves. As it grows, so do your badges.

Karma is a thank you, not money. It has no cash value, cannot be bought, sold or transferred, and is reversed if the rental behind it is refunded or cancelled. Play fair with it. Fake or duplicate accounts, referring yourself and other tricks to collect Karma will lead to it being removed and may lead to your account being suspended. You can see how it all works on our Community Karma page.

8. Keeping the place safe

If we see behaviour that goes against these guidelines or the law, or someone reports it, we may remove content or suspend accounts. We can also report criminal offences to the authorities. See our Security page for how we protect the platform and how you can protect your account.

If you spot something that feels off, or anything is confusing or broken, tell us at customer@neighbrr.com. You are not just users, you are shaping this with us.

Thank you for being part of it. Share more, own less, live better.

Warmly,
Shaun
