This Cookie Policy explains how Neighbrr ("Neighbrr," "we," "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our platform. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
Neighbrr is established in Belgium and is subject to the Belgian Law of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications (Wet betreffende de elektronische communicatie / Loi relative aux communications électroniques), which implements the EU ePrivacy Directive, and to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679. Oversight is provided by the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données).
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website operators.
There are two main types:
Under Belgian ePrivacy law, strictly necessary cookies are exempt from prior consent. These are cookies without which the service cannot function — for example, the cookie that keeps you logged in. All cookies currently used by Neighbrr fall into this exempt category.
If we introduce non-essential cookies (such as analytics) in the future, we will request your explicit consent before setting them, in accordance with GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and Belgian ePrivacy law.
Neighbrr currently sets only the following cookies, all strictly necessary:

These cookies are strictly necessary. Under Belgian ePrivacy law, they are exempt from prior consent requirements. neighbrr_ref is set only if you actively follow an invitation link; the other two are set for every visitor. You cannot opt out of these cookies while using the Neighbrr platform, as they are essential to its security and function.
In addition to the cookies above, Neighbrr stores a small amount of information in your browser's localStorage to remember functional choices on your device. This information stays in your browser, is never transmitted to our servers, and is not used for analytics or advertising. It currently covers: whether you have dismissed the cookie notice (neighbrr_cookie_consent), whether and when you dismissed the "add Neighbrr to your home screen" prompt (pwaInviteDismissedAt), and the collapsed or expanded state of the on-screen invite button and the day it was last shown (invitePillCollapsed, invitePillImpressionDay). You can clear this at any time through your browser's "clear site data" controls.
We are committed to transparency. Neighbrr does not currently use:
Crediting a referral (the neighbrr_ref cookie above) is done first-party and server-side. It does not involve any advertising or third-party cookie, pixel, or tracking script, and the information is never shared with advertising networks.
Note on Google OAuth: If you choose to log in using "Continue with Google," Google may set cookies on its own domains (e.g. accounts.google.com) as part of the authentication flow. These cookies are governed by Google's Privacy Policy and are outside Neighbrr's control. Neighbrr only receives the profile information you authorise Google to share.
We may introduce additional cookie categories in the future. All categories below are currently inactive. If any of these are enabled, we will update this policy and request your consent before setting them.
Help us understand how visitors interact with the platform — such as which pages are most visited. If activated, you will be asked for consent first.
Remember your choices such as language or display settings across visits.
Used to deliver relevant advertisements. Neighbrr does not currently use and does not plan to use marketing cookies.

Please note: Deleting or blocking the sessionid cookie will log you out of Neighbrr. Blocking the csrftoken cookie will prevent you from submitting any forms on the platform. Blocking neighbrr_ref only means an invitation you followed may not be credited to the member who invited you.
When you first visit Neighbrr, a banner at the bottom of the screen informs you that we use essential cookies. You can dismiss this banner by clicking Accept & Close.
Your preference is stored in your browser's localStorage — not as a cookie — so it persists until you clear your browser data. localStorage is not regulated by the ePrivacy Directive and does not itself constitute a cookie.
You can reset your preference at any time, which will cause the banner to reappear on your next visit:
